Rainy Day Off

There is never going to be a good day with the weather, I have decided. It is a daredevil sport to do anything on the boat.

There were pros and there were cons for the day. The tarp was holding out okay. At the same time, the eternal situation of revolving ladders meant I was up on a regular painter's ladder and not an elaborate builder’s ladder. Oh, well. I am spry and can get up and down nicely. I have a hard hat and a work harness. I do not anticipate an ambulance ride.

One of these days I will smarten up and buy a ladder or build a platform, but all bets are off until the spring.

I have gotten a second wind about the boat. Either life is more settled or we are just in a different place entirely. Or we are facing the reality of being fairly situated with no out, and I didn’t have any big plans for the summer. That trip to Europe is not looking very good at the moment.

The spring sailing class is about as far as it goes for entertainment.

One of my credit card companies gave me a cash-back reward of a Lowe’s gift card. I now have builder’s paper, some new twine, and a couple of rolls of tape, not to mention the Craftsman drill and screwdriver bits.

For some reason, every time I get in a relationship, I lose a few of my tools. They somehow don’t look like HERS.

Next time, I am going to spray paint everything pink so it won’t be mistaken for HIS.

Even the boat is going to be pink with a Teal dragon.

A boat neighbor who spent a month on his refit gifted me some PVC pipes and old tarps. I now have a craft paper pattern for a fancy winterization plan on the cockpit, which needs a little TLC.

More to come on the new saw!

Not to mention the three-thousand-dollar tooth. Good implants are not cheap. Now there’s a holdup.
